‘Cloudbuster’ is based on true life story of Austrian born scientist by the name of Wilhelm Reich. Set in Maine USA in 1956 the story focuses on the re-enactment of a twenty four our period, where Reich claimed he could make rain for some blueberry farmers who’s crops were caught in the grip of a persistent drought. Reich had constructed a rain making machine he called, ‘The Cloudbuster’. This event was also a crucial one in Reich’s controversial, scientific, life which led to his ideas being scrutinized and punished with incarceration by American Government.
